Made for where you are

One app, two kinds of cardholder.

Whether you're keeping a card or two tidy or running a whole wallet of synced cards, Credit Owl meets you where you are — and grows with you.

Free

Just getting organized

You have a card or two and want to stop guessing. See live utilization, get a heads-up before each statement closes, and know the exact amount to pay.

Best for — keeping 1–2 cards in target utilization, free forever.
Pro

Optimizing your whole wallet

You juggle several cards and care about the details. Get unlimited cards you add by hand, connect up to 30 for automatic sync, and exact pay-by guidance across every card.

Best for — running a whole wallet of cards on autopilot.

Features

Tiny app, huge difference.

Built around one idea: low reported utilization on every card, on the right day, every month. Every feature exists to make that automatic.

Every card, one view

The whole picture, always quiet.

Connect your bank and your cards fill themselves in — or add any card by hand. Credit Owl shows live utilization per card and across your whole profile, with a clean meter so a glance tells you everything.

Reminders before close

Heads-up alerts a few days before each statement closes, and balances sync automatically so what you see stays current.

Pay-by recommendations

Set a target. Credit Owl tells you the exact dollar amount to pay on each card so the statement reports inside your band.

Private by design

Connect through a secure provider with bank-level encryption — Credit Owl never sees your bank login. No ads, no analytics, no data brokers. Your data is backed up privately to your own iCloud.

Go deeper

How utilization actually works.

Most people pay on the due date and wonder why their utilization still looks high. The secret is timing — and Credit Owl handles it for you.

Statement close ≠ due date

Your balance is reported on the close date — not the due date.

Issuers send your balance to the bureaus when your statement closes, which is usually weeks before your payment is due. Pay down before the close date and a low balance gets reported; wait until the due date and the higher balance is already on record. Credit Owl reminds you ahead of each close so you pay at the moment that counts.

The 1–8% sweet spot

Lower reported balances, the band models favor.

Utilization is your reported balance divided by your limit. Many utilization-sensitive scoring models respond best to a low, non-zero figure. Credit Owl defaults to 8% — the top of the band — and lets you set anywhere from 1% to 8%.

Per-card, not just overall

One maxed card can undo a tidy overall ratio.

Scoring looks at each card's utilization and your overall figure. Credit Owl tracks both, so a single high card never slips past you.

Try it yourself

See your pay-by number in real time.

Drag the sliders to match one of your cards. Watch utilization update live and see the exact amount to pay before the statement closes — the same math Credit Owl runs for every card automatically.

How it works

Three steps, then it just runs.

01

Connect your bank or add a card

Link your bank for automatic sync (bank-level encryption, we never see your login), or add any card by hand in seconds.

02

Set your target

Pick a target utilization between 1% and 8%. The default is 8% — the top of the 1–8% band most utilization-sensitive scoring models favor.

03

Pay what it tells you

Each day Credit Owl shows the next card closing and the exact amount to pay so the statement reports inside your target band.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

Does Credit Owl pull my credit report or score?
No — Credit Owl never connects to the bureaus or pulls your score. It never connects to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, FICO, VantageScore, or any scoring model. When you connect a bank, it's through a secure provider with bank-level encryption — we never see your login credentials. You can also enter your limits and balances by hand, and we do the math on-device.
Will using this raise my credit score?
We won't promise that. Credit scores depend on many factors, including payment history, account age, credit mix, and inquiries. Credit Owl helps you keep one of those factors — reported utilization — inside the band most scoring models favor. It's educational, not a guarantee of any score change or approval.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. Connecting your bank is optional — it just lets your cards, balances, and statement dates keep themselves current automatically through a secure provider with bank-level encryption. If you'd rather not connect, you can add any card by hand and update balances yourself; every feature still works.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free tracks up to 2 cards you add by hand, with reminders and pay-by recommendations. Pro adds unlimited manual cards plus automatic bank sync for up to 30 cards — so balances and statement dates stay current on their own — with close and due-date alerts across your whole wallet.
How much does it cost?
Free forever for up to 2 cards. Pro is $11.99/mo or $89.99/yr (about $7.50/mo — save 37%). There's no separate free trial; the free tier lets you try it. Billed by Apple and cancellable anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Why does timing my payment matter?
Issuers report your balance when your statement closes — usually weeks before the payment is due. Paying down before the close date means a lower balance gets reported. Credit Owl reminds you ahead of each close and tells you the exact amount to pay.
Does it work on Android?
Not yet. Credit Owl is iPhone-only today. We'll let you know when more platforms land.
How are notifications delivered?
All reminders are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. Their contents never leave your phone. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in Settings.
